The New Basics
Our collection brings together traditional carpet-making methods and modern design sensibility. Each rug is handmade to order in Europe, Nepal, and India by artisans who uphold centuries-old weaving techniques.

We use only the finest natural fibers — wool, linen, silk, and Tencel — to create surfaces that are tactile, durable, and refined. The color palette, developed with award-winning color expert Kristie Strasen of Textiles + Color, offers a sophisticated range of fresh neutrals and rich tones designed for both harmony and contrast.

With shared hues and textures across multiple constructions, the collection makes it easy to specify coordinated schemes for larger residential and commercial projects — a contemporary system built on timeless craft.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with architects and designers to develop color, construction, and scale that feel personal to each project. Many of our patterns and palettes are designed to live together, making it easy to build cohesive stories across rooms, floors, and spaces.

Our History
The Empire Collection was founded in 2018 by Aronson’s Floor Covering, a 150-year-old New York flooring institution. Named for our home state, the collection was born from a simple idea: to reimagine the tradition of handmade rugs through a contemporary lens.

From our 5,000-square-foot showroom in Chelsea’s design district, we collaborate with design professionals around the world — creating pieces that bring craftsmanship, color, and conscience to the ground we live and work on.
